The MOMS Club of Coastal DE is proud to announce that

our 2018 Beneficiary is the Cape Henlopen Education Foundation.

The Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation (CHEF) seeks to inspire learning and to prepare all students for a healthy, productive life in a diverse and global society. To accomplish this, they seek to engage the entire community–educators, parents, business, civic and legislative leaders–in providing students with the tools they need to excel.

The Cape Henlopen School District has 100 students that come from families that are considered homeless and 38% of the district’s students are considered to be from low-income homes. The Cape Henlopen Education Foundations assists teachers and staff to provide opportunities for these students and others in the school district. Funds from the consignment sale would be used for students in need in the Cape Henlopen School District including: purchasing supplies for homeless students, clothes, shoes, hygiene products for low income students, subsidizing trips and school experiences for students in need, teacher grants to support performing art opportunities for students as well as purchase materials for social emotional experiences such as Gentleman’s groups for students that benefit from a positive male role model. All funds would be used locally by teachers to benefit students right here in our home school district, Cape Henlopen.

Organization must have 501(c)(3) non-profit status. Funds must be used to benefit children in Sussex County, DE. The MOMS Club of Coastal DE requests the presence of the selected organization(s) at the annual Consignment Sale as volunteers and also present an informational table about their organization(s). Any selected beneficiary will also be included in our subsequent press releases and advertisements. Each application is reviewed to ensure that the organization qualifies and that it meets MOMS Club International guidelines. The MOMS Club of Coastal Delaware has the right to reject any application that does not meet our guidelines for donation. The selected organization(s) is chosen by a vote of our club membership and all organizations who submitted applications will be notified.
